Jill Nelson: I’ve always been an observer of patterns and behavior, somewhat of a biologist you might say. As an artist, I study the wild things that grow in nature; inspired by the lustrous colors in leaves, the textures of bark and rock, or the patterns in a row of reeds. Whether in essay, poem, painting, or photograph, my art tends to lend its composition to vivid imagery and magnified details. As an observer, I like to share my visions and hope to inspire others to take the time to zoom-in on the delicate things they pass by everyday.
